Prototyping PISA-like Mathematics Problems for 8th-grade Students Using Javanese Context

Javanese context is rich of phenomena potentially used as a starting point to learn mathematics. On the other hand, Indonesian students’ performance in PISA consistently low due small number PISA-like problems which can be foster mathematical literacy measured PISA. Therefore, this research aims develop set using targeted for 8 th -grade students Junior High School. It development study Plomp’s framework stage need analysis and prototyping. We have successfully developed prototype mathematics context. There are six items covering seven basic competences junior high school. The various skills such communication, representation, mathematization, devising strategies, reasoning. could explore some contexts traditional building, transportation, calendar system, community meeting, historical place. Meanwhile school materials include sequence, Cartesian coordinate, relation, linear function, equation system two variables, Pythagorean theorem.
